Do you really know what decorative panels are?

Types, specifications and characteristics of decoration boards

(1) Density board Density board is also called fiberboard. It is made of wood fiber or other plant fiber as raw materials, plus urea-formaldehyde resin or other suitable adhesives.
(2) It is divided into high-density board, medium-density board and low-density board.
(3) Board specifications: The conventional specifications are 1220mmx2440mmx2mm~30mm, and special specifications need to be customized.

1. Large core board is called blockboard in the industry;

(1) It is made of two pieces of veneer glued and pressed in the middle. The price of large core board is cheaper than that of thin core board. The bending and compressive strength is poor, but the transverse bending and compressive strength is higher.
(2) Board specifications: 2440mm*1220mm; according to thickness, it is generally divided into 3, 5, and 9 cm boards. 3. Particleboard Particleboard is a thin board made of wood chips as the main raw material, with glue and additives added to press it. It is divided into two categories: extruded particleboard and flat pressed particleboard.
(2) Board specifications: 1220*2440mm Special thickness: 25-45mm.

2. Melamine board is a melamine-impregnated film paper facing artificial board.
(1) It is a decorative board made by soaking paper with different colors or textures in melamine resin adhesive, then drying it to a certain degree of solidification, laying it on the surface of particle board, medium-density fiberboard or hardboard, and hot pressing it.
(2) Board specifications: 2440mm*1220mm.

3. Gypsum board Gypsum board is made of gypsum as the main raw material with additives and fibers. It is heat-insulating, sound-absorbing, light and non-flammable. Gypsum board combined with light steel keel is the material for gypsum board ceiling. It also has paper-faced gypsum board and hollow gypsum board. Gypsum board is mostly used for partitions, and less for suspended ceilings.
(2) Board specifications: 2400*1200*9.5~12; 3000*1200*9.5~12, 2440*1220*9.5~12, 1800*1200*9.5 (unit: mm)

4 .Plywood is commonly known as fine core board in the industry. It is made of three or more layers of 1 mm thick veneer or thin board glued and hot pressed. It is the most commonly used material in handmade furniture.
(2) Board specifications: 3 mm, 5 mm, 9 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm and 18 mm.

5. Decorative panels are made by precisely slicing solid wood boards into thin veneers with a thickness of about 0.2 mm, using plywood as the base material and through a gluing process to create a decorative board with a single-sided decorative effect.
(2) Board specifications: Thickness is 3 mm.

How to choose decoration board?

1. First of all, we need to judge from the appearance of the board. The surface of the board should be flat and intact, and the markings should be complete. Good quality wood boards should have no dead knots, patching, leaking glue, cracks, wormholes, etc. In addition, the whole board should be flat and not warped. When placed vertically, the corners should be straight. When placed in a pile, each board should fit completely.
2. The second step is to check and judge from the side of the board. The side of the board is also the cross-section. From here, you can carefully see whether the thickness of the core board is uniform, whether it is straight, whether there is overlap or gap. Observe whether the core wood strips of the board are rotten, whether there are cracks at both ends, whether there are gaps between the wood strips, and whether they are tightly spliced. Usually, the core board of a good quality blockboard is straight and of uniform thickness. The core wood strips of the board are not rotten or cracked, and the splicing is tight. Measure the size of the blockboard, especially the thickness of the blockboard, to see if it is consistent with the nominal thickness.
3. Another way is to measure the gluing quality of some wooden boards. You can cut the wooden board into 76mm x 76mm boards, and then put them into 63℃ water and boil them for 3 hours. Observe whether the glue layer on each end of the wooden board has debonding and the degree of debonding. Generally, the glue layer of high-quality blockboards will not have debonding.
